In 1887 John Crellin founded Ruby Hill Winery and named it after the bright red fertile soil he found all around him. The winery’s philosophy has always been to produce world-class wines of the highest caliber from the beautiful Livermore Valley and surrounding California coastal regions.
Specializing in Zinfandel and Petite Sirah, Ruby Hill Winery in general works with typical French, Italian, and Spanish varietals, with a great passion for the Italian Sangiovese and Barbera.
All the wines at Ruby Hill Winery are crafted in small lots with the highest attention to detail.
Chris Graves, Winemaker for Ruby Hills Winery says, “Each wine, even fruit from the same vineyard but a different vintage, has its own personality. One needs to understand this personality and embrace it. The wine must be nurtured and cared for to optimize its potential. I may try to maintain a particular style from vintage to vintage, I treat every wine differently with respect to its own personality, and treat it with tender loving care.”
There are several ways to enjoy all that Ruby Hills Winery has to offer.
